Autumn Term 2017
I would like to welcome your child back to school for the autumn term for their final year in primary school. Personally, I am looking forward to this year and I am sure that the children will settle in quickly and look forward to the many challenges ahead. I would like to share the following information with you.
Mrs. Riley is the learning support assistant within the class. She will be supporting your child in and out of the class over the coming year as well as during visits to secondary school.
It is always lovely to see the children wearing school uniform, it’s something they will have to get used to wearing next year, and I hope to see the children wearing Fenton uniform as often as possible. Please make sure that your child’s name is clearly marked on all items of clothing.
We place great importance on helping the children become independent readers and to find reading as something to be enjoyed. Reading books are available to go home every day. Please encourage your child to read to you and with you. If you have any questions about your child’s reading or how to help them please do not hesitate to ask. Reading books must come back to school every day, even if you haven’t had the opportunity to read with them. By doing this your child will have more opportunities to read in school.
PE lessons will take part on a Thursday. All children require P.E. kit.
PE kit – T-shirt and shorts/joggers, jumper and trainers.
As with school uniform, all P.E. kit should be clearly marked with your child’s name.
As a class, we will be swimming in the Autumn Term every Tuesday afternoon.
Children can bring in their own fruit from home or they can purchase a piece of fruit for 20p from our Fruit Shop at break.
I am sure that we’ll have a great time in 6V this year, and I will strive to ensure that your child has the best opportunities to further develop. The year will fly by really quickly and before you know it the children will be off to secondary school. If you have any queries about the educational progress or general well-being of your child, my door is always open for you to come in to have a chat with me.
Thanks for your cooperation.
