Remembrance 2016

Remembrance Day 2016

They shall not grow old,

As we that are left grow old;

Age shall not weary them,

Nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.

A Show of Our Respect

On Friday 11th November 2016 the Year 6 and Year 2 classes attended a remembrance service at the Cenotaph in Haverfordwest. The Head Boy and Head Girl from Year 6 and two school councillors from Year 2 laid wreaths on the Cenotaph from the whole of Fenton CP School.

Whilst Year 6 and Year 2 were paying their respects in Haverfordwest town at the Cenotaph, the rest of the school were paying their respects with a Remembrance assembly led by Class 3/4 D/E. The children informed the rest of the school how and why we celebrate Remembrance Day every year. At the end of morning break at 11am all of the classes lined up and stood for a two minute silence which ended with Mr Llewelyn playing The Last Post on the bugle.
