October 2021
This half term we looked at an environmental issue linked to Pembrokeshire. Following on from the National Theatre Film 'Go Tell the Bees' we looked at what is causing the decline of bees worldwide and what will happen if we continue to lose bees. We wrote newspaper articles and poetry. We also created art work based on Celtic art.
We told stories and found out about how people have talked to the bees for centuries. We also planned and started work on our garden making sure we found out about bee friendly plants and bee homes to attract them to the school grounds! We made beeswax candles to sell at the Christmas fair.
Some of us had a very exciting morning just before Christmas with Good Morning Britain coming into talk to us about our reading sessions with Cariad Pet Therapy. It was really exciting to see our classmates on TV on Christmas Eve!
