Peter Rabbit came to stay in Sandy Haven for a week.

19th Jan 2019

We built a big cage in our classroom for Peter to stay in, it had lots of newspaper and sawdust on the floor, a tunnel for him to play with and two bowls for his food and water.

During the week the boys and girls took turns to do daily jobs including giving Peter his lunch, filling his water bowl and reading stories to him.

One day we did an experiment to see what foods Peter liked. We found out that he liked broccoli, but his favourite was carrots!

The following week Miss Vicky brought her kitten Elvis to meet us. He was a little bit nervous when he arrived, so we all sat quietly and put out some treats for him so that he would come out of his carry box.

After a little while, Elvis was a lot happier so Miss Vicky said that we could give him some gentle strokes. He even went for a little walk around our classroom, he really liked crawling through the tunnel in our balancing area.

The boys and girls were able to ask Miss Vicky lots of questions and learn about what kittens like to do and what they eat.
